Privacy Policy

Chiranjeevi Pandey ("we," "our," or "us") built ProperImage as a freemium app. This Privacy Policy explains how ProperImage handles your information.

The short version: Your photos and the files you create are processed entirely on your device and never leave it through ProperImage. We collect a limited amount of anonymous analytics, crash diagnostics, and purchase data to run and improve the app. We never sell your data or use it to track you across other apps.

By using ProperImage, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Information We Collect

ProperImage does not require an account or sign-in, and does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location.

Your Photos — Never Collected

  • All image processing — converting, compressing, resizing, cropping, background removal, PDF creation, beautifying, and watermarking — happens locally on your device.
  • ProperImage asks for photo-library access only to read the photos you choose to edit (via the system photo picker) and to add edited images you choose to save back to your library.
  • Your photos and the files you create never leave your device through ProperImage. We do not upload, transmit, store, or analyze your images off-device.

Data We Do Collect

To operate the app, understand which features are used, and fix crashes, we and our service providers collect the following limited data. None of it identifies you personally, and none of it is used for advertising.

  • Usage / product interaction: Anonymous events such as which tool was opened, when an export completes, onboarding completion, and paywall views — to understand feature usage and improve the app.
  • Crash & diagnostic data: Crash logs and non-fatal error reports — to diagnose and fix bugs and stability issues.
  • Device identifiers: A persistent app-generated/device identifier and a push notification token — to attribute analytics and crash reports, and deliver push notifications.
  • Purchase data: Anonymous purchase and subscription status — to validate and restore your Pro purchase.

This data is collected through Firebase (Google) and RevenueCat — see Section 3. It is linked to a persistent device identifier but not to your real-world identity, and it is never used to track you across other apps or websites.

Push Notifications

If you grant notification permission, we register a push token (via Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send occasional app updates and offers. You can revoke this any time in iOS Settings.

Support Requests

If you email us for support, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to you. We do not use it for any other purpose.

2. How We Use Information

We use the data described above only to:

  • Operate, maintain, and secure the app;
  • Understand which features are used so we can improve ProperImage;
  • Diagnose crashes and bugs;
  • Validate and restore purchases;
  • Send push notifications you have opted into.

We do not sell your data, share it with data brokers, or use it for cross-app or cross-site advertising. Support emails are used only to answer your question and are not shared except as needed to provide the response.

3. Third-Party Services

ProperImage relies on the following service providers. Each processes only the limited data described above.

  • Apple App Store — Payment processing & purchase delivery (payment details, which we never see) — Apple Privacy
  • RevenueCat — Purchase validation & restore (anonymous app-generated identifier, purchase token) — RevenueCat Privacy
  • Firebase Analytics (Google) — Anonymous usage analytics (product-interaction events, device identifier) — Google Privacy
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — Crash & error diagnostics (crash logs, diagnostic data) — Google Privacy
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — Push notifications (push token) — Google Privacy

We never see or store your payment card details — Apple handles all payment processing. RevenueCat receives a non-identifying purchase token and an anonymous app-generated identifier solely to validate and restore your purchase; it does not receive your name, email, or photos.

4. Data Retention

We do not hold any personal data that identifies you. Analytics, crash, and purchase data are retained by our service providers per their own retention policies (linked above). Your images and settings stay on your device under your control. Support email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to resolve your request.

5. Data Security

Your photos and files are processed on-device and are never transmitted or stored remotely by ProperImage. The limited analytics, crash, and purchase data we collect is transmitted over encrypted connections to the service providers listed above. App preferences are stored locally on your device.

6. Your Rights

You remain in control of your data:

  • Photos / files: Your images live in your own Photos library and device storage — manage or delete them directly.
  • Analytics: The data we collect is anonymous and not tied to your identity. Contact us to request deletion of data associated with your device identifier.
  • Purchases: Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings; restore purchases from within the app.
  • Push notifications: Disable any time in iOS Settings.

European Union (GDPR), California (CCPA), and India (DPDP)

ProperImage collects only anonymous analytics, crash diagnostics, purchase status, and device identifiers — and never your real-world identity. Regardless of where you live:

7. Children's Privacy

ProperImage is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The limited analytics and diagnostic data we collect is anonymous and not used to identify any individual. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and post the revised policy at its public URL. Continued use of ProperImage after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
