Terms of Service
Effective: October 20, 2026 · Last updated: October 27, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Nepali Unicode Keyboard ("the App"), operated by Chiranjeevi Pandey ("we," "our," or "us").
By downloading, installing or using Nepali Unicode Keyboard, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Nepali Unicode Keyboard, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) and agree to comply with these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.
2. What the App Does
Nepali Unicode Keyboard is an Android keyboard for typing Nepali in Unicode. It offers Romanized typing (for example, "namaste" becomes नमस्ते), the traditional Nepali Unicode layout, an English layout, emoji, clipboard history, smart suggestions for Nepali dates, amounts and units, optional handwriting recognition (Google ML Kit, off until you turn it on), and Nepali voice typing through your phone's speech recognition service. The App is free and contains no ads or in-app purchases.
3. Suggestions and Voice Typing
Romanized and smart suggestions come from built-in word lists, rules and calendar tables, handwriting is recognised by Google ML Kit, and voice typing is provided by your phone's speech service. None of them is always correct. Check your text before you send or publish it, especially for names, numbers and anything important.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Nepali Unicode Keyboard lawfully and not to use it to harass or deceive other people. You are responsible for the text you type with it.
5. License Grant
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Nepali Unicode Keyboard on Android devices you own or control, subject to these Terms. You may not:
- Copy, modify or distribute the App;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except where the law allows it;
- Rent, lease, lend, sell or sublicense the App;
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices in the App.
6. Your Content
Everything you type is yours. Nepali Unicode Keyboard does not store or upload it, and we claim no rights to it.
7. Third-Party Content and Services
- The Nepali word list contains word frequencies derived from Nepali Wikipedia (ne.wikipedia.org), available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence.
- The emoji list is derived from Unicode emoji data, © Unicode, Inc., under the Unicode License v3. Emoji are drawn by your phone's font.
- Voice typing uses your phone's speech recognition service (usually Google's), subject to that provider's terms and the Google Privacy Policy.
How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
Nepali Unicode Keyboard, including its design, code, features and branding, is owned by Chiranjeevi Pandey and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Third-party names are the property of their respective owners.
9. Termination
We may suspend or end your license if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by turning off the keyboard and uninstalling it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability) survive.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
NEPALI UNICODE KEYBOARD IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that suggestions or voice typing results will be accurate.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHIRANJEEVI PANDEY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR CONSEQUENCES OF INCORRECT SUGGESTIONS OR VOICE TYPING RESULTS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF NEPALI UNICODE KEYBOARD.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS SHALL NOT EXCEED $50 USD. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Nepal, unless the consumer protection laws of your country give you the right to bring a claim where you live.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when the App changes. We will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised Terms at https://nepali-indie-dev.github.io/nepali-keyboard/terms-of-service.html. Continued use of Nepali Unicode Keyboard after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
